Use of Computer Tracking Technologies.

The Company may, from time to time, use certain computer tracking technologies including:

  • Website Access Logs: The Company may collect clickstream data and HTTP protocol elements through website access logs, which generate certain kinds of non-identifying site usage data, such as the number of hits and visits to our Website. This information may be used, for example, for internal purposes by technical support staff for research and development, user analysis, and business decision making, all of which provide better services to the public. The statistics garnered, which contain no personal information and cannot be used to gather such information, may also be provided to third parties.

  • Use of Cookies: The Company, or our third-party vendors, may from time to time collect non-identifiable and personal information through the use of various technologies, including "cookies." A cookie is an alphanumeric identifier that a website can transfer to customers’ hard drives through customers’ browsers. The cookie is then stored on a customer's device as an anonymous tag that identifies the customer's device, but not the customer. Cookies may be sent by the Company or its third-party vendors. You may be able to set your browser to notify you before a cookie is received, giving you opportunity to decide whether to accept the cookie. You may also be able to set your browser to turn off cookies; however, all or some of the Websites and Services may not then work properly.

  • Use of Web Beacon Technologies: The Company may also use web beacon or other technologies to better tailor its Website to provide better customer service. If these technologies are in use, when a visitor accesses these pages of the Website, a non-identifiable notice of that visit is generated which may be processed by the Company or by our suppliers. Web beacons usually work in conjunction with cookies. If a customer does not want cookie information to be associated with such customer's visits to these pages, the customer can set its browser to turn off cookies; however, web beacon and other technologies will still detect visits to these pages, but the notices they generate cannot be associated with other non-identifiable cookie information and are disregarded.

  • Collection of Non-Identifiable Information: The Company may also collect other non-identifiable information from user visits to the Website in order to provide better customer service. Examples of such collecting may include: traffic analysis, such as tracking of the domains from which users visit, or tracking numbers of visitors, or measuring visitor activity on the Website. Such information is sometimes known as "clickstream data." The Company and our contractors and partners may use this data to analyze trends and statistics.

Third Party Websites and Links

The Website and Services may provide links to websites or other online platforms operated by third parties. If you follow links to sites not affiliated or controlled by us, you should review their privacy and security policies and other terms and conditions. We do not guarantee, and are not responsible for, the privacy or security of such sites, including the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of information found on these sites. Information you provide on public or semi-public venues, including information you share on third-party social networking platforms may also be viewable by other users of the Website or Services and/or users of those third-party platforms without limitation as to its use by us or by a third party. Our inclusion of such links does not, by itself, imply any endorsement of the content on such platforms or of their owners or operators.

Children's Data

The Website and Services are not intended to be used by children, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information about children under the age of majority in your jurisdiction. If you are the parent or guardian of a child who has provided us with their personal information, you may contact us using the contact details set out below to request that it be deleted. As of the Effective Date of this Privacy Policy, we do not have actual knowledge that we "share" or "sell" (as those terms are defined in applicable law) personal information of individuals under sixteen (16) years of age. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received personally identifiable information from a user under the age of sixteen (16), we will delete such information from our records.

Security and Retention of Your Information

The Company employs physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard the security and integrity of personal information, and will exercise other reasonable efforts to safeguard the confidentiality of such personal information. However, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee "perfect security." In addition, any information you send to us may not be secure while in transit. We recommend that you do not use unsecure channels to communicate sensitive or confidential information to us. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE COMPANY BE LIABLE FOR UNAUTHORIZED DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION DUE TO NO FAULT OF THE COMPANY INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ERRORS IN TRANSMISSION AND UNAUTHORIZED ACTS OF COMPANY STAFF AND/OR THIRD PARTIES.

How long we retain your personal information depends on different factors, such as whether we need the information to maintain your account, to provide you with Services, comply with legal obligations, state veterinary boards, or the AAVSB RACE, resolve disputes, or enforce other applicable contracts and policies.
